Kansas City right fielder Mike Ruíz picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Reno Silver Sox, 4-3. By defeating Reno, the second-place Jacks improved to 27-18.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Ruíz hit a fastball from Leonard Burton for a solo home run. The Jacks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Kansas City manager Marcus Jelks praised his team's "energy."
