|
No one was more impactful than Pedro Rodríguez in the 6-3 Salt Lake City win over Reno. Rodríguez, who finished 3rd in the PL in triples with 18 in 2007, was 3-4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Mark Cahill, who finished 5th in the PL in saves with 37 last year, earned the save for Salt Lake City. The Locusts now have a record of 25-23 with the win over Reno.
Salt Lake City took a 5-3 lead on Rodríguez's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which he hit off Arturo Avilés in the top of the eighth, propelled Salt Lake City to the win.
"It was a solid team effort," Rodríguez said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
