The San Francisco Seals defeated the Mexico City Aztecs, 10-5, at Ohlone Park. San Francisco was led by 32-year old catcher José Rodríguez, who was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luis Walker came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The Seals, at 42-51, sit in 5th place in the Pacific Coast League North.
Mario Padilla, who finished 4th in the PL in wins above replacement with 7.8 in 2003, helped out the San Francisco cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman went 2-5 with 2 singles.
"We take it day by day here," said Padilla, "and today was a good one for us."
