Mexico City picked up a win at Estadio Tenochtitlan, bumping off the Hollywood Stars, 3-1. Pitcher James Thomas was a major reason the Aztecs emerged victorious. Mexico City reliever Mike Brown picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Jesús Chávez was tagged with the loss. Alfredo García collected save number 4.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Rob Wright, who finished 2nd in the CL in batting average with .351 last year, hit a double. The Aztecs went on to win.

Thomas said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.

The Stars fall to 5-11 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2016 season.
