4-1 Loss Extends Las Vegas Losing Streak
|
The Houston Lone Stars got a stellar effort from pitcher Alfonso Hernández, helping Houston score a win over the visiting Las Vegas Strip, 4-1. Hernández got the win, improving to 5-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. The Lone Stars, now 27-11, have won 5 in a row.
Dan Campbell had a big run-scoring double for the Lone Stars in the bottom of the first inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Logan Fontenot, who is tied for 2nd in the PL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lone Stars ahead, 2-0.
Las Vegas manager Charlie Donovan, after yet another defeat, said: "Just different when you have that swimming feeling in your cranium. It's difficult to focus."
