A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Hollywood Stars and San Bernardino Stallions.

The Hollywood Stars trumped the San Bernardino Stallions, 7-2, at Perris Hill Park. Hollywood second baseman Roy Hopkins was terrific. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Tony Soto earned the win for Hollywood. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 5-2.

Mike Cardenas had a big 3-run home run for the Stars in the top of the first inning. With Hollywood leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a changeup from 37-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Clifton and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 4-0.

"Nice win for us," said Cardenas. "Now we'll go after the next one."
