Acorns Mow Down Beavers, 10-3 Wednesday, August 20th , 2014 The Oakland Acorns picked up a win at Multnomah Stadium, knocking off the Portland Beavers, 10-3. On the mound for Oakland was right-hander Diego Cruz, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 6.2 innings, Cruz surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The win elevated the Acorns to 85-59. The Acorns got a big hit from first baseman Rafael Costa. In the top of the eighth, Costa pounded a grand slam home run to right.
